Uses of Quartz and its Occurrences 

 

Quartz is used in many different things such as: electrical components, silica for glass, abrasives, optical lenses, ornamental stones, gemstones, building stone, and piezoelectricity which creates electricity by means of a process that is known as piezoelectricity. In the past quartz crystal used to be utilized as a phonograph pickup and now it is used as a crystal oscillator which are more commonly known as quartzes.

Occurrences of amethyst can be found in Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Canada, as well as some places in the United States. Smoky quartz is found in Scotland, the Swiss Alps, Brazil, and Colorado. Rose quartz can be found in a number of different places but mainly in Brazil. Natural citrine can be found in a lot of amethyst deposits but it is not found in large amounts. Rock crystal is found in Africa, Brazil amongst other areas and fine agates is found in Mexico, Brazil, Montano, and Germany.
