Tule Canyon

Tule Canyon was one of the first gold placering areas that were worked on in Nevada. The production first started in 1871 however, there were Mexican miners working in this area a long time before that. The placer deposits in this area stretch over a ten square mile range. The better and most productive spots in the area are located in Tule Canyon and the gulches that flow into it. this area is located around ten miles south from the town of Lida on the south tip of Silver Peak Range and is in between the Magruder Mountains and Sylvannia. Those interested in nugget shooting and dry washing can visit Lida by travelling nineteen miles on highway 3 from highway 95.

Eagleville district
The district of Eagleville has placers which are located some miles south of the old mining camp of Fairview; this is in a canyon that is south of the Eaglevile Mine. Make sure to be cautious in this area though given that the military utilizes the land as a bombing and aerial gunnery range. The Eagleville district is located in between Highway 23 and Frenchman.

Lynn district
The district of Lynn is located close to the big Carlin Mine operation and the placers here can be found in Lynn, Rodeo, Sheep and Simon Creeks. Most of these creeks are dry during the year and those interested can do dry washing or metal detecting. Those interested in visiting the Lynn district can go around twenty miles northwest of the town of Carlin in the Tuscarora Range. The gold in this area can be found in the gravels on the top part of the ravines. You will notice that the gold is coarse and angular and it is high in purity as well.
