Even though a lot of amateur prospectors have a ton of gear, the basic equipment and tools you will are going to need in order to get you started will only need to consist of a few basic items. There are different types of tools that will help you be able to get the job done quicker and others will be useful for getting the job done more efficiently. There are certain tools you will need to use to recover gold in areas that have to be done by using a special technique or method like in the case of dry washing where water is not available. The great thing is that almost anything you can think of for making the job easier can be found now. The problem lies in the fact that there are some items that are quite expensive and some are simply not worth purchasing them especially in the case of a small operation.
