The process for applying for a mining permit
In the case of a small scale mining operation (this would make up operations that mine less than the amount of acres stated by the state or country lived in and extraction of under a certain amount of tons per year). In order to do this there are a number of application forms that need to be submitted such as:
- A request for determination of special, exceptional, critical, or distinctive lands with a minimum of 2 months before the submittal of the permit application will need to be submitted.
- A small scale mine permit application form will need to be submitted.
- A certification of applicant form will need to be submitted.
- An operating and reclamation plan that goes along with the small scale guidelines on the small scale mining permit application will need to be submitted.
- An application fee (this varies from state to state or country to country) will need to be submitted.
- A map that shows the site of the mining operation, as well as projected roads or the routes in which they can be accessed will need to be submitted.
- A wildlife survey might also need to be submitted.
In some cases it might take a minimum of half a year to get a small scale mine permit so don’t become frustrated if it does not occur right away.
