The Carbonaceous Matter
The carbonaceous matter can be found under multiple forms in the minerals: graphite, organic remains, humique acids, etc. These matters have the properties of making the gold precipitate after its placing into solution, thus leading the losses of metal in the remains of the treatment.
The specific treatments allow remedying more or less these losses (oxidation, separation of carbon).
Certain clays can also precipitate the cyanides of gold. This precipitation finds its origin in hydro carbonated matter absorbed in its surface but the precipitation of life to the chemical composition of the clay, influences notably in the nature of the captions which is not excluded.
Finally, one can signal that this phenomenon of precipitation of gold has been placed in evidence over certain pyretic minerals, Guay. It is useful to remember that the external pollutions of the same minerals can be the problem of these origins of treatment: roots, remains of wood, of plastic, various vegetables, reactive of flotation, greasing oils.
