Sampling Through Cuttings of Perforation Holes
This method is only applied when the outcrop is accessible by means of transport in where a compressor can be towed. Perpendicularly from the outcrop parallel outlines are drawn between each other at the distance of 10 to 20 meters and down the length of each outline holes will be done with a pneumatic hammer each of 1 or 1.5 meters, inclined at 45 degrees regarding the horizontal. At the end of each hole a vent or recuperator is placed that will take care of picking up all the fragments form a sack that is fixed on the base. All of the fragments of the same profile will make up a sample that will be sent to the laboratory for analysis.
Case of a vertical wall In the case of a wall with horizontal mineralized layers or those that are a little bit inclined, the samples will be done by vertical holes of which the interval may vary from 1 to 5 meters. The dimensions of the hole will always be of 15 x 5 cm in depth.
Sample preparation
Crushing The samples that are taken during the prospecting hammering phase usually have a size that does not exceed that of 20 1. Because of this it will be enough to break it in a mortar, after having broken the bigger pieces with a combo or hammer. This crushing will reduce the ground sample down to a size less than 1mm.
