Stream Prospecting

Make sure to not forget to look for gold along the bottom of streams. The streams that are most likely to have gold in them are those that are running down from the mountains and one of the best moments to prospect the bottom is right after it has rained, which is when the water that is running through has broken the soil up and has created flood layers.

A stream is something similar to a natural sluice because the rocks and other obstacles on the bottom hold onto and catch the gold on the upstream side. An easy way to get to the gold is to dive in with a snorkel and to carry a little bucket and trowel. You should dig up as much gravel as you can from the upstream side of any big rocks while underneath, and then you should swim back to the shore and place the bucket in a container so that you can pan it later on.

Some people have found other methods of doing this job and have come up with some very ingenious ways of getting the dirt out from under the rocks, it’s up to you in the end and what ever works best for you is what you should go for.
