Popular Areas for Electronic Prospecting

Some of the most popular areas that have been searched by electronic prospecting are the tailings of miners that were there in the past. Remember that the equipment that was used by the ancient miners such as their dry washers etc, were not the best and they often times left small pieces of gold in the tailings. Keep in mind also that the really nifty detectors these days have the ability of detecting pieces of gold that are as small as half a grain in size. The dry washers the ancient miners used often times also knocked off bigger pieces of gold in the tailings because of the screen sizes they used. Gold dredges usually grabbed onto most of the gold being dredged, however they sometimes screened off a good amount of rocks with gold in them in their grizzlies. Many expert prospectors have been able to find bigger pieces that contained around twenty to sixty ounces of gold in them; most of this gold was buried inside of rock and could not be seen though. These varieties were pulled off of big piles of tailings and have been checked with detectors for to see if the presence of gold could be found in them. In the past the hydraulic miners also left little pieces of gold trapped in exposed bed rock after they got rid of a great amount of the soil on the top. Detectors are very useful in helping a prospector find gold and they are allowing many people to find it successfully. Just keep in mind that research is necessary previous to your prospecting adventure.
