Past & Present Gold Mining

Some discoveries were made in the 1800s gold fever. In those times, some miners became millionaires, but even then, many who decided to embark on this adventure did not even find enough to cover their expenses. The reason for that were the methods and gear used in those times that would only allow small scale operators (one or two men) to process just a small amount of land, which made necessary to find richer gold deposits. They had to be easily exploited due to limitations.

Such deposits were few, and finding them meant hard work in exploration and labor. When a rich seam was found it was very exciting and at the same time dramatic.

Today, conditions are different. Trails have already been opened, recovering methods have improved, and the gear to process can be bought by a single man, which allows him to get farther than what a miner in the 1800s would be able to. As a result, the rate of success among miners to locate significant amounts of gold is now beyond that of the old times.

Maybe there are not as many gold-miners as in those times, but it is a fact that today the majority of them have been successful. The individual success percentage among gold-miners of today is much better that in the old times, and the investment is also less.

Believe me, I have traveled round every hill and creek and I have discovered a considerable amount of gold for myself. And I bet there is much more left from where this came from. There are lots to find yet!

I am not saying that everything is a bed of roses. It takes lots of work, research and persistence to learn how and where to locate it., and be permanently successful, be it as an optional activity or as a profession. But it is being done and each time there are more people dedicated to this activity. And, do not worry, there is still plenty of gold for you to find, and there will be for as long as there is planet Earth.
