Outcrop of the Rock
It may occur that the prospector will have to verify the characteristics of the indication of found through some surface work, especially in the case where an isolated indication that is difficult to access to. These jobs consist of:
- Excavating a hole or ditch on top of the signaled out area with the objective of determining the geometric outcrop characteristics such as the dimensions, potency, if it is a direction vein or dip vein.
- Another two ditches will need to be done at two meters of one part and the other, over the supposed prolongations and perpendicularly at their direction. These should, if possible, reach the rocky sublayer.
These jobs have been destined to demonstrate that the deposit that has been found goes along longitudinally and to see if the indication that was found, commonly poor because it is lixiviated in the surface part, is not richer than the covered part, or the deeper part. These consist of very light jobs that are destined specifically to providing some data to fill out an indication chart. A systematic prospecting in trenches will be discussed further on. These jobs should not last for more than a week, even if in this time there is not any interesting information. The obtained results, even if they are negative, will need to be reported in the indication chart previously mentioned above.
