Old Dale, Dale the Second, and Dale the Third

To get to these areas you can take the freeway to San Bernardino and from there take the I-10 east. Those that are going from the south can take highway 60 east exiting from Riverside given that it comes together with the 10 at Beaumont. Keep on going on the 10 until you get to the turnoff of highway 62, keep on going past the turnoff to Palm Springs. Then continue on highway 62 until reaching Twenty Nine Palms. Those who are interested in getting to what used to be Old Dale should go close to fifteen miles from Twenty Nine Palms. This area no longer exists as we previously mentioned and there is not much to see except for some foundations that mark the area. Those interested in getting to Dale the Second should go south on the Gold Crown Road which is a little bit more than for miles from Old Dale. You should be able to see a water tank located on the left hand side of the road; if you locate this, you have arrived to the Gold Crown road which is a dirt road. The Virginia Dale Mine is located on the left as one is heading south. Dale the third is located a couple miles further down Gold Crown Road and is also located on the left hand side close to the mountains. The gold in this area used to be found in gold quartz veins and for the most part in granite and diorite. Some of the veins in this area were very thick, and some were even ten feet in width from what has been reported and a good number of rich gold pockets were spotted in the early days as well.
