Observation of Outcrops
The observations that will be reported will be related with prospecting and not with regular geological lifting. The observation of the outcrops makes up the main stage of the denominated as hammer prospecting. There are only certain sectors or desert regions or mountain areas where outcrops are continuous. In a number of regions, the outcrops are nothing more than a reduced surface and a lot of time will need to be spent on their observation proceeding in the following way:
- It can either be broken into pieces, preferably with a combo.
- Or the rock needs to be briefly determined; remember that over a wet rock the structure can be better seen.
In case of doubts in the determining stage, a description of the rock will need to be made and a sample with the at least the dimensions of the size of a pack of cigarettes will need to be taken so as to be able to make a precise determination (getting in addition advice from colleagues) and maintaining a part for a possible study in the thinner section. The numbering of the samples needs to be done very carefully.
