Metal Detectors

One of the latest and most exciting developments in gold prospecting is Electronic Prospecting or Nugget Shooting. In order to do this type of prospecting you will need a detector. There are two main types of detectors that can be used for gold prospecting. One consists of a multipurpose unit, or that was made to be used for a lot of different things by simply changing the settings or way in which the detector can be utilized. The other type of detector has been mainly made for gold prospecting. The multipurpose detector has existed for a long time now and if you pick out the right one it can help you find gold effectively. The second type of detector has turned into something more popular in the last few years and is the unit of choice for those who are looking into getting serious about prospecting. The type of detector you choose to get for gold prospecting should be decided on by how often you plan on using it specifically for gold prospecting. Therefore this means you should think about how seriously you are going to be getting into gold prospecting or if you are going to be using it for many different things, if you are considering simply taking up prospecting as a hobby etc. If you are going to be using your metal detector for a lot of different things is the multipurpose one. If you are interested in gold most of all and this is your main interest, you should consider getting a specialized unit. Not all prospectors use metal detectors but if you make a decision on purchasing one try doing your nugget hunt in the dry washes. You will obviously need to do some research of some of the geology and areas that have gold in them and go to one of these places. You will need to use the mineral setting to find the black sand deposits and clean it off down to bedrock. You should then place your metal detector back on metal and set it to a fine setting. When you do metal detecting make sure to pass the metal detector over the area slowly and make sure to look at the meter needle. Headphones are also a good suggestion to use.
