Metal Detectors

Not all prospectors use metal detectors but if you make a decision on purchasing one try doing your nugget hunt in the dry washes. You will obviously need to do some research of some of the geology and areas that have gold in them and go to one of these places. You will need to use the mineral setting to find the black sand deposits and clean it off down to bedrock. You should then place your metal detector back on metal and set it to a fine setting. When you do metal detecting make sure to pass the metal detector over the area slowly and make sure to look at the meter needle. Headphones are also a good suggestion to use.

Getting a Hip Mount Kit
For all those that like doing metal detecting almost all gold prospecting units available these days are very easy to use, and they are smaller in size and do not weigh a lot. The great thing about these aspects is that it allows the prospector to work in a standard hand held configuration. In other words, the prospector is able to have a control box placed straight on the rod that is linked to the loop. This means the whole unit is put together and in some occasions there are people that believe that it is too heavy; particularly if you have to hold on to it all day long.

There are many diverse kinds of carrying alternatives that are on hand with all the different brands of detectors that exist. A good number of them have the control box adjusted on the belt around the waist and only the arm piece that is attached to the loop is swung over the ground. If you are looking into getting a multipurpose detector, keep in mind that it is larger and much more bulky and due to this they are generally adapted with hip mount kit so that the prospector will be more comfortable and so that it is not so difficult to work with. There are a lot of these kits available and the great thing is that they are not too pricey and are a good alternative to invest it.

After you have done all of the necessary study up on how to use a metal detector and you have learned about how to make use of the type you specifically have, and have all the equipment ready and evidently after you have practiced how to use all your stuff and gadgets, you will then need to get the equipment ready in your vehicle with all the different things and supplies you will be needing for a prospecting adventure.

Keep in mind that metal detectors that are used exclusively for gold prospecting are to a certain extent similar in how they need to be controlled and operated. Clearly in order to learn how to use and operate them exactly will need to be discussed directly with the manufacturer and you should also be sure to read and then re-read the factory manual. There are two fundamental kinds of detectors that are by and large used, and these consist of the purpose discrimination and some of them have a meter or screen on it in order to help you be able to make out targets that have been discriminated.
