Land Coloration shows Alterations
During the whole time of prospecting the visual part of the search is being done even if the prospector does not always realize it. Remember that it is natural to feel curious and this curiosity is a good thing because it will lead you to investigate dry lakes, faults, hot springs, black sands etc, etc; just remember that anything that looks a little bit unusual is worth checking out and worth studying. Or if nothing else, an abnormal area should be checked in order to rule it out as a possibility of a clue of what you are looking for in the first place.
The early Spanish miners of the western state used to be a little bit more refined and their diggings are a little bit easier to find. These mines have however in most cases been worked on by the more common types of placer and lode techniques that do not have need of a lot of machinery or chemistry. Because of this these might be a little beyond the abilities for the advanced amateur that is interested in getting the same type of mining done. Nonetheless, these are still worth testing or sampling.
The mines that used to exist in the 1800’s and the 1900’s have been mentioned a great deal in different articles and books etc, that have been written about mining and if you do happen to locate one in the natural process during a tracking search, it would do you good to have done some research as it will help to save you time when it comes to sampling. When this type of discovery is made, it is often good to closely check the ore dumps when the evidence show the ore has been lying still for a good fifty to one hundred years. There have been a lot of methods of recovery of ore that have been developed over the previous century and the quickly increasing prices have increased the interest for this search as well. These are obviously things that make the dump worth working and looking into. Besides this, there are now a lot of minerals that were once not considered to have any worth and that are now in great demand.
Almost all of the previous information on the visual search is merely information that all prospectors should have in the back of their minds in case one or more of these individual events takes place during a tracking search.
