Isolating concentrations of mineralization and hot rocks
There are cases in which concentrations of mineralization are not as uncomplicated to isolate as one single rock. The little mineral pockets can be called shapeless hot rocks. They are not actually held together and it is almost impossible to isolate them. These have a tendency of moving around and do not provide a signal in both directions when the loop is swung over them. They are in most cases very soft and do not have the sound of a top target which his easier to confuse with a gold nugget. Nonetheless, they can at times be mistaken for deeper nuggets because of how soft they are. Sometimes scraping the soil around them will help to scatter them as this will give the prospector an indication that he does not have the repeatability of that target which in fact is the only way to tell this kind of mineralization from a metal target. It is always a problem to have to deal with hot rocks for all prospectors. The change everywhere the prospector goes and there is not any exact answer as to how they can be resolved. Just remember that like with every skill that needs to be mastered, practice is the only way to turn into a real professional. |
