Is high frequency effective in canceling bad ground?

Before the high frequency detector was put into the market, it was for the most part known that the lower frequency detectors were able to cancel bad ground more efficiently and this was the reason most of the detectors operated at lower frequencies. There were some experts that did not believe this was actually true and said that the higher frequencies were able to detect the smaller targets. It was mentioned though that at the lower frequencies all the components of the detector worked better in general and this was the reason the lower frequency was used for ground canceling. Therefore with the choice of utilizing higher frequency for smaller sized targets, there was suddenly the need to start making a better way of ground canceling. The manufacturers of these detectors decided they would start developing several ground balancing measures. One of the most well known methods was the use of double stacked knobs on multi purpose detectors. The double stacked tuner had a fine tuner on the top of it and less fine tuner under it. The relative amount of the fine tuner to the less fine tuner was around ten to one to eighteen to one and this provided a good resolution in where it was able to efficiently cancel the ground. The higher 50 Khz unit had to have a very exact ability in order to be able to cancel the ground efficiently and a forty to one ratio was required for it. This last one mentioned needed two different controls on it which consisted of a less fine tuner as well as a double stacked fine and medium tuner. There are also other types of ground canceling that are known as automatic toggling and tracking and they can usually be found on multi purpose units. In the case of these, they have to be very quick in order to work appropriately.
