Gold Prospecting Expeditions

Before we get into the last source search segment of the prospecting expedition, there are a couple other kinds of searches that are in many cases used by prospectors that have a lot of experience when the methodical methods of the triangle type of tracking search do not need to be done. These are a lot quicker to do and are easier and a lot of prospectors prefer to use them if the triangle type search does not work out.

The first type of these searches could be called the search line technique. In this kind of method, all the prospector does is simply fix his eyes on the most probable high spot and goes straight to it with just superficial exploration on the way. The prospects are checked at spaced out periods along the search line and the prospector does not vary from the search line unless there are other outcrops that seem to be more promising that would then need to be investigated and checked out. This kind of search is usually always mixed along with the random type or searching.

The random type of search are the ones in which the prospector more or less goes along a line up towards high ground but he does not have a set base line that he is required to explore. The prospector is able to go over the area in many different directions exploring outcrops, faults, contacts, unusual looking vegetation, hills that are eroded in a different out of the ordinary way, as well as anything else that seems interesting to search out.

In a triangular search with its organized kind of exploration of base lines is definitely the best method that can be used for any kind of search done for a lode and it is not to put it down to say that the straight line and random techniques are used more often because they are a lot faster and in many cases the same result can be obtained. They do have a couple of things that can go wrong that cannot always be beat by someone that is new at this.
