Gold Prospecting Supply

An effective dredging operation starts at home when the trip is being planned. A good gold prospecting supply and what one decides to take along with, such as camping equipment and supplies is not part of the actual dredging however, this decision also establishes how much other equipment can be taken as well. Most dredgers avoid taking too many camping supplies for example, because they are more interested in taking along additional tools. Besides the dredge, the other supplies one will need for the dredge are gas and oil. In the case of oil you can drain the oil from the engine and refill it when you arrive to the location you are going to dredge in. In addition to fuel, another thing to consider for a dredging operation is a good set of tools. Tools are necessary to work on the engine and dredge and the essential items consist of pliers, some screwdrivers and a crescent wrench. There are also tool kits at can be found in hardware stores that have all of the most important items in them. Besides taking tools along with you, make sure you also take along a good supply of nuts, bolts, wire, little bits of chain, and any other things that may seem useful when you do not have access to a hardware store. Think about this point very well when considering what you could need while out on the field. Rope is something that all dredgers should make sure to take along with them and it is not difficult to carry. Rope is often times used by dredgers that are setting their work up for shorter operations. For those that are going to be doing longer operations it is suggested to use waterproof chain and cable. If you are going to be using chain and cable we suggest you first rub it with a greasy rag before letting it get wet. Make sure to not do this with your bare hands though because you can get severely cut. The last necessary items are the tools that all miners need. There are different kinds gold prospecting supplies that are needed but in general these consist of shovels, picks, spades, rock hammers, hand winches, etc. Obviously this greatly depends on what one expects to find and the type of area the prospector plans on going to, nonetheless, the items that will always be needed are shovels, picks and rock hammers.
