Gold Panning in Water

For anyone interested in wet panning the following are the common measures that should be done:

  • Put the material you suspect has gold in it in a pan or some sort of container.
  • Put this under enough water to where it covers it or keep the gold pan full of water.
  • Run your hands through the material so that you wet the bottom and cause the liquid to suspend.
  • Swirl the pan or container under the water vigorously by using a circular motion.
  • Once this has been done you should take the larger rocks out that can be seen and that have been washed clean.
  • Then shake the pan in a circular motion again, then sideways, then back and forth.
  • Allow the material that is lighter to spill out of the pan little by little.
  • What you will be left with on the bottom of the pan will be the concentrates and this will be your concentrates.
