Gold Mining in Russia

At one time in the past, Russia was the second-largest producer of gold in the world, it has suffered labor and production problems of its own and has fallen to the fifth largest world producer. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, fundamentals tables list the former republics separately. Take Russia and Uzbekistan into consideration, together they accounted for more than 90 percent of the former Soviet Union’s production. Comparison shows that the supply from the republics of the former Soviet Union has fallen considerably.
