Gold in Pan Prospecting
Recreational gold panning and prospecting is something that a lot of people do these days and thousands of people are involved in it. Finding gold in a pan while prospecting is definitely one of the best things that can occur to a recreational prospector. Another thing that helps of course, is the fact that the prices of gold have gone up making it oh, just that much more alluring. However a lot of the people that take up this recreation or hobby (if you want to call it that way), do it for the thrill of finding gold rather than for the financial profit they can obtain from it. No matter if you are a professional prospector or a new prospector that is just starting out, having a gold pan is one of the most essential tools you need to have. A gold pan is one of the first items that is used in finding gold and is one of the last ones used as well, as a matter a fact gold pans are also used in commercial mining in order to see and check the value of the ore that is being processed. Gold pans are used wherever gold can be found in around seventy five percent of all the countries in the world. The Batea, which is a gold pan that has a conical shape to it, was the first pan to be used. It was created by the Mayan Indian civilization. The Batea is around fifteen or twenty four inches in diameter, and 6 to 8 inches deep. The first ones were carved from wood. These gold pans were used to pan gold, diamonds, rubies, emeralds and gemstones. Anything that was heavier than regular sand and gravel was able to be panned with this piece of equipment. The Batea is sort of a bulky and dreadfully weighty device and it requires a great amount of familiarity and knowledge before it can be used well. While on the field if you find gold in your pan while prospecting make sure to take along a plastic or glass bottle so you can hold your findings in. |
