Gold, what is it?
All the things in the physical universe that man can feel are formed by one or more chemical elements. An element is a simple basic substance that cannot be broken, even less by chemical means.
The elements are the foundation bricks of any construction of the universe’s material in which we live. Scientists have discovered more than 100 basic elements and they have organized them in a “Elements Periodical Table” according to atomic sub-structures.
Gold is one of the 92 natural elements that are found in planet Earth. There is no known natural substance that can destroy gold. It can be dissolved by chemical means, but even then it continues being gold, it is just that its state is more disperse.
During eons, man has hesitated about where does gold come from, that is, its place of origin. Scientists have recently discovered that gold can be produced artificially by means of lead atomic bombardments, which is another basic element. However, the process is quite expensive, even more than the monetary value of gold. So it cannot be produced artificially at a commercial scale. However, this discovery has derived into the theory that gold found in our planet might have been produced in nuclear ovens of stars that have long disappeared , being our planet part of those remnant waste.
The scientific symbol for gold is Au. Its number in the elements periodical table is 79. Gold is not magnetic, but it is an excellent conductor of electricity. It melts at 1945°F. Gold does not corrode or tarnish with humidity; it does not rust under the effects of oxygen or water, or is it affected by ordinary acids, as many other metals are. Gold deposits that have remained inside a mountain or under the stream of a creek, or inclusive in the ocean basin it will still be there without undamaged until it is removed by natures force or by man.
