Geological & Metallurgic Aspects

Geological Aspects
The bed of some specific areas is constituted by auriferous dredges of glacier origin with variable contents of gold and heavy metals, among them tungsten and tin.

The glacier deposit mainly consists in detritus non classified of sub-rounded rock fragments, highly compacted sand and clay.

The average density in situ is 2.25 ton/m3. The unit under normal conditions varies from 10% to 15%. The factors of sponging show an ample margin of variation, 45% for loose material and 15% for compact material.

Metallurgic Aspects
The recuperation of gold in glacier detritus depends on a series of physical factors, among others, of the size, of the shape and liberation of the gold nuggets which are determined by the primary configuration of the minerals in situ and the transport conditions.

Other prominent factors include the character of the main rock and its form of decomposition (for example, laminated or isometric nuggets), the amount and type of clay.

In the auriferous bed of an area, the primary mineral configuration together with the glacial transport mode above relatively short distances, as well as the environmental conditions, produced well liberated gold nuggets, in a semi-angular form, free of oxides. The degree of rounding diminishes with the nugget dimensions, in such a way that the number of particles of a factor of disfavorable form (0.15 COREY) is inversely proportionate to the size of the nugget.

The pack worked rock includes both graphitic slates as quarcites, that in process of its decomposition in the glacier detritus they leave a very high amount (25% - 60%) of clay (unknown mineral composition).

Other factors of recuperation such as equipment, flux grams and processing methods, disjoining and washing are mainly controlled by the operator and have, thereby, much flexibility.

The statistic indicates a certain degree of correlation between the percentage of recuperation to the total law, when the law is higher, so will the percentage of recuperation be.
