Evaluating a Gold Projects
One of the characteristics of the mining center in Peru is the lack of guaranteed studies, except for the case of some consultants and the absence of methodology that allows an appropriate presentation in front of the financial organisms.
The credit organisms have the need of knowing exactly all the information about the possibility of profitability of the project, its pay out capacity and the eventual risks. In 1983 the Banco Minero of Peru came up with a manual of elaboration of the feasibility studies where issues are presented for the elaboration of studies that would need to be presented to the financial institutions.
A mining prospecting of which the initial studies have not been done needed to obtain help from the Mining Bank, from the moment it get off its feet until it reaches the stage of production and it goes through four different phases of investment and evaluation, which include: Conception, Verifying of the studies made, Construction, and Production.
In a mine where the exploration has already put in evidence the existence of mineral reserves, it is necessary to do a study of pre feasibility that is able to measure the amount of investment that would be necessary for its preparation for the construction of the plant and the costs of the first months of work capital.
For an efficient evaluation of an auriferous project, the evaluator will need to have all the necessary technical information about the deposit before actually visiting the mine.
The basis of an evaluation in a special auriferous project and also in any mining project is to obtain a sampling in a sector of the mine, while trying to obtain samples that correspond to those obtained in the study that was presented by the company.
