Sodium hydroxide. This reagent can be applied in weak base resins and sometimes the reaction can be catalyzed by sodium benzoate. At pH values near of pKa, the equilibrium of the adsorption reaction is stopped and functional groups can not adsorb ions. It means that resin returns to its free base form, and then weak base resin can be eluted by simple reaction con a solution of sodium hydroxide. A typical dosage can be 30-50 g/l. |
