Trowels
Another item that all gold prospectors know about are trowels for the reason that they are a very known of digging tool. There are a lot of diverse brands and types of trowels that can be purchased in different shapes and different sizes. In the case of prospectors that are interested in finding one, these can be found in hardware stores or nurseries as well. If you are looking into getting one that is not going to rust and that will last just about a lifetime you should think about getting the stainless steel trowel. There are also trowels available that have serrated edges on them and these are really useful for those that are looking into cutting the base of a bush or small tree or anything else. Trowels are easy to find and you can ask a dealer about them as they will have a good selection of diverse ones used on the field. Trowels are popular to use given that they make digging and removing dirt very easy. Make sure to pick out a trowel that is the right shape and comfortable given that you will be using it a lot. It’s fine if it is not a big size one. The kind of ground or terrain you are going to be working on will let you know the type of digging tool you will need though. Trowels work very well in areas that have sandy or loose soils.

Magnetic Hoe
One item a lot of prospectors like to work with is a magnetic hoe. These have a flat pick head on one end and on the other a claw head. This tool is very useful in occasions when the prospector needs to pick at rock or soil; however it is not very convenient when it comes to removing dirt from a crevice. Some magnetic hoes have a magnet at the bottom end of the handle which can be utilized to find little pieces of iron junk while attempting to look for a target at the same time.
