Design of a Detector Coil

The style that a coil has will make some difference in its being able to detect smaller sized pieces of gold in the ground. This means that the quantity of ground the loop allows the detector to capture at a time and the depth it is able to handle. There is one coil that is known as the concentric coil and it is one of the most well known of loops for people that are interested in hunting for coins and it is the one that can normally be found on multipurpose detectors. The concentric coils work very efficiently on targets that are larger in size and it can be relied on to discriminate and rule out unwanted items. The bigger ones seem to be better in that they give the prospector a larger search area than the concentric coils however the larger ones are not as good at discriminating and are not as liked on multipurpose detectors. As you may notice, there are both good and bad sides to the design of a loop. The trick in getting the right size loop though is directly related to what size targets you are looking for. If you do not really care about passing up the very small size pieces of gold, then a larger size loop might just be the one for you to use. If you are looking to get something that will pick up more gold you would probably want to go with the smaller size loops. Find out which are currently the most popular loops for detecting the smaller gold targets if that is what you are interested in finding. Remember though that the bigger size loops are also very useful in the case of bigger size gold targets and also come on some gold detectors as well. Therefore if the multipurpose detector is able to cancel the ground where you are searching, and it comes with a smaller size loop that works to detect the gold targets you are looking for, then it can be used for gold prospecting. Mainly, you should ask yourself if you are interested in getting it for more than simply gold prospecting and how serious you are planning to get into this. If you are however more interested in doing coin hunting for example, and you are not interested in investing a great amount of money on a special deluxe detector for that specific purpose, then the multipurpose unit is probably your best option. Make sure before to be careful about choosing the detector and use the decisive factors that were previously mentioned. The best thing you can do is to purchase from a reputable metal detector dealer and somebody that you are able to trust in and who has a lot of knowledge on detectors.
