2.4 Metallurgical tests.: In the

 

metallurgical laboratory can be done a lot of tests simulating different processes, all will depend on how is equipped the lab, the time that we can expect the results, and obviously the money to invest during this step. It’s important mention that if there are many tests and results are truthful, the future adjustments in industrial scale will be few and the possible mistakes will be diminished.

Now, will be described the main tests that must be carry out before thinking in a flowsheet for a cyanidation plant.

a. Grinding.: With these tests will be determined the necessary time of grinding in the laboratory in order to have certain mesh size of grind. A simple tests series of four or six grind times will be done. Results must be plotted and the time will be extrapolated for each size of particle. It’s necessary consider 200 mesh and the K80 obtained in each grind test.
