Continuous Pilot Oven Nichols Hereshoff of Multisolar of 36”
a) Description The equipment consists of one vertical cylinder in which in tis interior it disposes of six floors with a refractary covering. A vertical central axel to which there are four raked arms at a level of each heater placed, it turns to transport and mantain the material floor to floor homogenous.
There is a burner per floor; effectuating the control of the atmosphere through the regulation in the feeding of gas-air and the temperature by the proper thermocuplas.
The material is fed by the top part, which after the toasting is collected and cooled off in the lower part of the oven. The gas flows in countercurrent coming out of the oven towards a cyclone, which separates the solid particles, and enters into the chamber of combustion, where the sulphurs are oxidated; after the gasses are dragged to the venturi and the scrubber where they are neutralized by action of hydroxide of sodium, to finally be evacuated through the chimney.
b) Tests of Selective Toasting The condition and profile of temperatures used in the piloting are previously mentioned.
