Can Staking be done on Federal Lands?

Even once you have all your gold prospecting equipment together you still have to know where to take it and what to do with it. It’s no good to get all your gold prospecting equipment ready without looking into where you are going to be heading off to in your search for the elusive gold dust and gold nuggets that dot our planet. Thankfully you are not alone in your search and there are many gold enthusiasts putting their gold prospecting equipment to good use throughout the world everyday. Individual gold prospecting has been seen in many parts of the world including New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, in Canada and in the United States where gold prospectors have had especially good luck in the western states even though successful and profitable gold prospecting is also carried out in other states and locations throughout the entire United States of America. In the United States the Department of Agriculture has in recent times changed its view concerning gold prospecting, placer mining and recreational gold panning and is now of the view that recreational gold panning and gold prospecting in the general national forest areas is permitted provided that no machinery or explosives are used, no waterways are diverted, and no permanent or semi-permanent structures are built. There are even public mining areas in many states, and those prospecting may be allowed to stake one Gold placer claim or other type of mining claim in certain areas as long as the necessary requirements are met, fees paid and forms filled. Unfortunately many gold prospectors armed with great gold prospecting equipment are more concerned with nothing more than finding the color of gold in the streambeds and other prospecting locations. It's to bad too, because one of the greatest parts of the experience of recreational gold prospecting is exploring ghost towns, mining camps, and metal detecting and searching for antiques and relics like old coins among other interesting things that you can turn up. Of course you invested all that money into your gold prospecting equipment for a reason and that reason is to find pay dirt so plan your trips well and make sure that you have all the necessary permissions (if needed) and head on out either alone or with friends and family to search and to find that mother lode that is just waiting for you around the next bend in the stream.

There is an exact meaning to the words claim and mining claim when they are utilized in association with the mining laws in this country, and have to do with a specific portion of land, of value for specified minerals to where an individual has claimed the right of possession for the purpose of developing and extracting minerals that have been discovered. The right is given to the miner that is able to fulfill all the requirements of the mining laws. The laws that are imposed also provide the miner with protection for all lawful uses of the claim he owns. However if the laws are not followed then the miners rights are not granted to him.
