Dowex is a trade mark of synthetic ion exchange resins obtained from styrene divynil benzene co-polymers. They have a big number of functional groups in the hydro carbonated matrix. These functional groups determine the chemical behaviour and the type of ion exchange resin. The manufacturer is The Dow Chemical Company.
