Bedrock Gold Traps
Irregularities of bedrock on the streambeds play an important role in where gold is trapped. A crack or fissure along many bedrock gold traps is a good example of bedrock gold traps.
Many bedrock gold traps are situated as for water force, being enough to move gold, to clean up the other traps of other lighter material of the bed. This leaves whole in which gold can fall in ad be lodged away from the stronger streams of water, and from the material that flows through the bedrock. And there it will stay until a strong turbulence sweeps it out of there to put it at mercy of strong water streams, which will probably take it to some other bedrock gold trap.
Some kinds of bedrock are very rough and irregular, allowing the existence of many gold traps on the surface. How well can a crack trap gold? That depends much on its shape and its location in relation to the direction in which water streams flow.
The cracks that expand to the outside horizontally within the streambed can be very effective trapping gold because the streams of water keeps the upper part free of other materials, but due to the form and deepness of the crack it will keep the gold there.
Cracks that run in the same direction as the streams of water in the creek, or in a diagonal direction through the bed could be good, or bad traps depending on the conformation of the crack and the circumstances of each situation.
The majority of times the force of the water can introduce itself in these longitudinal cracks and prevent a great part of gold from depositing in it. However, this will generally depend on the features of the surface of the bedrock, and there are so many variables that it would not be feasible to try to develop all, as the possibility that a great rock is deposited in the longitudinal crack and turn all this area in a large trap of gold with dimensions of prosperity.
