Aerial vehicles (planes, helicopters)
The pilot will be in charge of taking care of the maintenance of the aerial vehicle. In the case of a mission that is done with a helicopter, make sure to provide for the recovery of the personnel some visible good, such as a strong orange color, in order to make reference the persons that are on the ground. If it is possible use a walky talky type radio. In cases in where the helicopter is not able to land, make sure of the land consistency by throwing something that is tied to a cable (there may possibly be quick sand, swamps, or surfaces of lakes that are covered in vegetation. In order to land and lift off without any problems, a helicopter needs a clear area of at least fifty meters by one hundred meters, oriented in the direction of the predominant wind, free of vegetation. It is necessary to signal with a 3 meter by 3 meter triangle the landing area and with a T in the direction of the wind. If it is possible build a permanent “wind sleeve”.
If there are smoke signals they will need to be placed at the end of the landing area. If there are not any smoke signals this can be made with tissue that is dipped in motor oil or with a can of conserves full of sand, oil and gasoline or with a piece of a tire that has been dipped in gasoline.
