Adequate Clothing for Gold Prospecting
Something that is very important to carry along in a prospecting trip is a few extra pieces of clothing and a vest in the vehicle. Remember that no matter where or what area you are working in the temperature can drop suddenly and get very cold. Also it is a lot easier to focus on the job you are doing when you are comfortable and wearing appropriate clothing. Remember to always have rain gear at hand as well as this is basic. It is possible to hunt for gold nuggets in the rain and even in between snow blotches (this is a bit trickier though). In fact, when the ground is wet it can increase the ability to hear very small nuggets that are deep down in the ground in almost any area. The exception to this though is in desert alkali washes. It is important when working in wet areas though to keep your detector dry in order to not ruin it and your prospecting trip.
Special equipment that should be taken on prospecting trips The real experts take all types of strange items along with them on their prospecting trips and most people simply have their own preferences as far as special items they like taking when prospecting. Some people for instance take cameras. In most cases if you are thinking about taking a camera it is suggested to take a simple one, not necessarily a high technology one given that it will be a lot easier to carry a simple one in your vest. Remember also that high tech cameras are very delicate so it would be useful to get a waterproof one. Some experts also carry binoculars with them which they find very useful for finding new spots and areas. There are other items that can be taken as well such as electric tape etc.
