There are small miners that many times can not finance a cyanidation plant, and this is the main factor that stops and brakes the development of a project in all its aspects. It is common in some places that ores with grades higher than 10 g/t gold use to be treated by heap leaching process which requires a low investment but has a low metallurgical performance and bad economic efficiency.
Even if this is method is inferior in economic and metallurgical performance. There is an alternative to the treatment: employing a carbon-in-leach process (CIL) because the investment could be similar but the economic and metallurgical performance is superior without any doubt.
2. CYANIDATION PROCESSES USED IN SMALL OPERATIONS.
A small operation with grades higher than 10 g/t gold can treat their ore for two cyanidation processes: heap leaching and cyanidation by agitation
